Job Purpose:
Under the direction of the Body Shop Manager / Service Manager, the Body Shop Painter performs major refinishing work from start to finish on damaged vehicles, honoring our commitments by ensuring high-quality and reliable paintwork. This includes surface preparation, color matching, painting, and finishing touches to ensure a flawless appearance for delivery to the customer. By delivering exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail, they create positive experiences for customers. The Body Shop Painter fosters lifelong learning by continuously improving their skills and staying updated on industry best practices. Exhibiting a pioneering spirit, they seek innovative techniques and solutions to enhance painting processes. Demonstrating good stewardship, they manage resources responsibly to ensure efficient and effective painting that supports the overall success and sustainability of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Honoring Commitments:
- Painting trucks, ensuring high-quality and reliable paintwork that meets the company's standards and customer expectations.
- Prepare trucks for customer presentation and delivery, ensuring they are finished to the highest standard and ready for handover.
Creating Positive Experiences:
- Assist with mechanical repairs, painting, and maintenance work on Heavy Duty Trucks, providing comprehensive support to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that customers' trucks are presented in the best possible condition to create a positive experience for the customer.
Fostering Lifelong Learning:
- Help out with the installation of mechanical components, continuously improving skills and gaining new knowledge in various aspects of truck maintenance and repair.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and new painting techniques, promoting ongoing learning and professional growth.
Exhibiting a Pioneering Spirit:
- Seek innovative techniques and solutions to enhance painting processes, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in craftsmanship.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a vocational program in automotive painting or equivalent on-the-job experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive or truck painting, including surface preparation, color matching, and finishing.
- Proficiency in using painting tools and equipment, including spray guns, sanders, and polishers.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship to ensure high-quality paint finishes.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures related to painting and handling of hazardous materials.
- Ability to perform basic mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and managers effectively.
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move heavy parts and equipment as required.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings as required.
