What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Advisor position at JX Truck Center?
The Service Advisor is responsible for serving as a liaison between the customer and technicians - which involves scheduling repairs, assigning work to technicians, preparing repair orders, billing repair orders, entering work orders into the computer system, ordering shop supplies according to procedures, and consulting with insurance companies.
Pay: $55,000-$65,000/year. (based on experience, skill set, etc.) Service Counter Incentive Program
Shift: 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday), rotating Saturdays
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process all shop repair orders by scheduling & assigning work to shop Associates.
- Document and diagnose necessary repairs by taking photographs.
- Provide effective communication to customers regarding their job orders by preparing estimates for repair work and parts; monitor job schedules to ensure timeliness of repairs and job pricing.
- Work closely with customers and insurance companies to obtain necessary authorization and documentation relating to repair work.
- Complete invoicing and collecting procedures in a timely manner.
- All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of related automotive repair facility or heavy-duty truck experience preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Windows. Must possess demonstrated skills in computer-generated business systems.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL recommended, but not required (or ability to obtain, if interested.)
- Dependable and reliable attendance required.
