We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Civil Site Engineer to join our team at K&A Engineering in Oak Brook, Illinois. Role Expectations:
- Validate and update SPCC plans for multiple substation facilities
- Conduct site visits, reviewing existing plans, and updating drawings
- Collaborate with clients to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Manage and oversee various civil site projects
- Prepare and review design documents, specifications, and engineering reports
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality, schedule, and budget requirements
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver innovative and effective solutions
- Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging open communication, reporting unsafe conditions, and suggesting improvements to safety practices
- Diligently ensure compliance with safety regulations, conducting safety inspections, and identifying potential hazards to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment for all personnel
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 5 years of civil engineering experience
- Experience in substation or power utility projects preferred
- Proficiency in CAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management abilities
