We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Distribution Line Inspector to join our team at K&A Engineering in White Plains, New York. Role Expectations:
- Work independently or in a crew to inspect and perform contact voltage testing on overhead and underground electrical systems.
- Work efficiently and safely meeting defined production goals.
- Maintain quality control targets meeting clients’ expectations while meeting productivity levels. Working safely every day by following safety rules and adhering to procedures to ensure a safe work environment. Safey performance is a requirement for employment.
- Accurately record field data via client software-based systems.
- Maintain all tools, vehicles, and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Inspector and Inspector team
- Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging open communication, reporting unsafe conditions, and suggesting improvements to safety practices.
- Diligently ensure compliance with safety regulations, conducting safety inspections, and identifying potential hazards to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in progressive related electric utility industry experience, with transmission facilities construction management
- Two (2) years of college is preferred
- Have a proven history of working safely and efficiently.
- Be familiar with basic electrical testing equipment including: DVM meters, Contract Voltage Tester, Gas Analyzer, Infrared Camera, and other equipment.
- Have relevant work experience in Overhead and Underground distribution equipment, infrastructure, materials, construction standards and be able to identify defects and deficiencies which create safety and reliability concerns.
- Be familiar with Environmental regulations that are applicable to the scope of work required for performing tasks assigned.
- Competence in computer skills and various MS based software
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to read, interpret and follow GPS maps
- Assume full responsibility for the safe operation and maintenance of a company vehicle, equipment, and tools.
- Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather and have the desire to actively participate in physically demanding work.
- Must be able to work underground in tight spaces such as manholes and service boxes (if applicable).
- Must have current US Work authorization and valid US Driver’s License in good standing
- Must be a resident of New York or able to relocate to the Westchester County
