The role involves managing changes to work plans, ensuring documentation accuracy, and supporting capital projects ranging from $150M to $300M annually.
Role Expectations:
- Develop work packages including scope, estimates, and resource needs
- Plan for equipment, tools, and permits
- Produce construction estimates and track work progress
- Coordinate with construction resources and project management
- Assist with emergency planning and site visits
- Closely monitor the progress and status of work and is responsible for raising issues to schedulers and supervisors to identify areas for improvement and opportunities to improve efficiencies
- Ensure accurate completion of NERC related documentation
- Coordinate transmission clearances with Grid Management, ECC & TCC, and DCC
- Assist in resolving and re-sequencing the work considering any customer sensitivities
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years related experience
- 5 years of Project Management Scheduling concepts
- Knowledge of substation, apparatus, relaying and line maintenance practices in order to identify all needed procedures, resources and clearances to effectively perform each maintenance / construction job
- Knowledge of work management systems (e.g., MAXIMO, MS Project)
- Able to attend onsite visits and in person meetings during normal business hours in the area in which the Substation Crews support 2 or more times per week
- Able to navigate & utilize basic computer software on a laptop or tablet
- Experience in substation and line maintenance
- Strong communication and organizational skills
