We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Pole Inspector to join our team at K&A Engineering in Long Island, New York. This is an entry level role with training and career mapping to help you build a career in the utility industry with K&A. The starting rate for this position is $18.00/hour with quick growth potential to $20.00/hour.
Role Expectations:
- Take picture documentation of existing transmission and distribution poles with provided equipment
- Verify assets and identification of third-party attachments to distribution and transmission pole plants
- Must be able to achieve and maintain acceptable levels of productivity and quality of work to include inspection of 14 poles per hour or more
- Works in a team environment
- Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging open communication, reporting unsafe conditions, and suggesting improvements to safety practices.
- Diligently ensure compliance with safety regulations, conducting safety inspections, and identifying potential hazards to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment for all person
- High School Diploma or Degree
- No prior experience required; training is provided
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must maintain a consistence attendance record
- Applicants should have the knowledge, experience and skills needed to review project plans, specifications, contract enforcement, and applicable technical standards, OSHA, and other regulatory statutes
- Must be able to walk or stand for prolonged periods, ability to lift 25 pounds over head and work on uneven and rugged terrain and in many different elements of weather
- Must be able to provide own transportation to the office in Hicksville, Long Island
