We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled EUtility Pole Inspection Intern to join our team at K&A Engineering in Long Island, New York for Summer 2025. In this internship, you’ll have the chance to work on exciting and impactful projects in the energy and utility sectors and get hands on experience!
Role Expectations:
- Document and take images of existing transmission and distribution poles with provided equipment
- Verify assets and identification of third-party attachments to the distribution and transmission pole
- Ability to inspect at least 14 poles per hour in various field sites
- Ability to work efficiently individually or in a group environment
- Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging open communication, reporting unsafe conditions, and suggesting improvements to safety practices
- Diligently ensure compliance with safety regulations, conducting safety inspections, and identifying potential hazards to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment for all person
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Strong interest in getting hands on experience with the utility industry and electrical distribution/system design
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license
- Must be able to walk or stand for prolonged periods, ability to lift 25 pounds over head and work on uneven and rugged terrain and in many different elements of weather
- Must be able to provide own transportation to the office in Hicksville, Long Island
- Hands-on experience in people operations with a focus on marketing and operational efficiency
