JOB OVERVIEW :
Responsible for front line operations of testing in the laboratory. Advanced technical knowledge in the field supervised is required. Ability to work with front line staff in troubleshooting instrument problems as they occur. Technically competent in the quality control program, proficiency testing and process improvement program of the areas of testing. Responsible for regulatory compliance of the testing overseen. Competency of staff supervised for testing is part of the responsibility for this position, which may include corrective action if necessary. Additionally, this individual shall maintain a healing environment for employees and patients with a spirit of caring and concern as incorporated in the philosophy of our healthcare systems while performing all job functions.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Have a bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology
- Training and relevant experience in high complexity testing of Immunology, Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology. At least four (4) years relevant experience in a high complexity laboratory setting is also required.
- When supervising the technical operations of the transfusion service the person must have education or experience equivalent to an associate's degree (or beyond) in a chemical, physical or biological science or medical technology and at least 4 years experience, one of which is in transfusion medicine, under a qualified laboratory director.

testing.
