Job Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible to supervise all operational aspects of the department. Ensures all laboratory procedures are conducted in compliance with prescribed regulations. Exhibits leadership and supervises all technical activities to include training, evaluating individual performance, counseling, and providing testing assistance as necessary. Maintain knowledge of all current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) required to perform effectively. Maintain excellent communication with all personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate's Degree in Applied Science or equivalent required
Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science or equivalent preferred
Experience: Three years laboratory experience required
Supervisory experience
Computer experience
Three years driving experience with good driving record required
Certification: Certified MT (CLS) required
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge: Must have a working knowledge of laboratory techniques. Must maintain knowledge of regulatory/quality requirements (national and international, i.e. FDA, EU, GHA, ISO & cGMP) and perform within all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies and procedures. Must recognize and facilitate resolution of unusual results or difficulties encountered in all phases of laboratory work. Must be able to correctly interpret test results.
Skills: Must be capable of performing, evaluating, and reporting laboratory tests/procedures by current methodologies. Must maintain competency in laboratory skills for liquid and material handling. Must demonstrate positive leadership skills. Must have adequate written and oral communication skills. Computer skills preferred. Must be capable of operating a motor vehicle in all types of weather conditions.
Abilities: Must be able to work accurately with interruptions and meet deadlines. Must perform well in repetitive testing situations. Must be professional, self-motivated, organized, detail oriented, and communicative. Must work well independently and as a team member as well as facilitate organizational team activities. Must be able to keep information confidential. Must be neat in appearance and well groomed.
