The Director of Medical-Surgical Services reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and is accountable for 24-hour patient-focused management of the Medical-Surgical & Pediatric Inpatient, Swing Bed, and Infusion Clinic & Obstetrical departments. Responsibilities include the direction of age-appropriate service line activities, critical evaluation, and administrative decision-making within evidence-based standards of care, policies, and procedures. The position requires the ability to develop and maintain a highly functional team of professionals with a patient-centered focus on quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
- ADN required, BSN or actively pursuing preferred
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine or Authorization of Practice pending licensure by endorsement
- BCLS required, ACLS & PALS to be achieved within six months of hire
- Excellent understanding of patient-centered care
- Commitment to the role of nursing in safety and quality
- Five to seven years of clinical nursing experience and a minimum of two years in a leadership role
- Demonstrated clinical proficiency delivering age-appropriate, evidence-based care of patients within the nursing process
- Well-developed, mature leadership skills, excellent communication skills, EHR experience, ability to multitask, solution-focused, creative
- Demonstrated autonomy and ability to function effectively and productively within an interdisciplinary team
- An enthusiastic, ethical nursing leadership style
