Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to oversee all aspects of our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and transportation, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for optimizing business performance. You will play a critical role in driving growth, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring the highest level of service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all aspects of the business, including dispatch, routing, and fleet management.
- Financial Management: Work with Controller establishing and enforcing cost control measures to ensure profitability and sustainability.
- Staff Development: Assist in recruitment, training, and development of a high-performing team. Foster a positive work environment and promote employee engagement and retention.
- Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients. Address any service issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including safety standards. Work with Safety Manager to Implement and maintain safety protocols for drivers and equipment.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth, optimize operations, and expand market reach.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports to evaluate business performance. Make data-driven decisions to improve operations.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with suppliers and third-party service providers to ensure quality service delivery and cost efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the trucking or logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations and compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, make informed decisions, and drive business results.
- Proficient in relevant software and technology tools (e.g., transportation management systems).
- Proficient in MS Office.
