Job Description:
As the Bakery Manager, you will be responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the bakery, ensuring that all activities run smoothly, efficiently, and meet the highest standards of food quality and safety. You will be a key part of our leadership team, helping to guide and motivate our bakery staff, maintain inventory, and contribute to an outstanding customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Culinary Director in planning and organizing daily bakery operations, ensuring that tasks are assigned and completed efficiently.
- Supervise and guide Bakery staff to ensure an organized workflow, high-quality food preparation, and optimal productivity.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring consistency and adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure 100% order fulfillment.
- Train new and existing bakery staff on proper cooking techniques, bakery procedures, and safety standards.
- Manage inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to maintain stock and avoid shortages.
- Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with the Culinary Director to develop, update, and refine menu items that meet customer expectations.
- Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling shifts, processing payroll, and conducting staff performance evaluations.
- Act as a point of contact for staff conflicts and bakery-related issues, helping to resolve challenges and ensure a smooth operation.
- Uphold a clean and organized bakery environment, ensuring equipment is maintained and the bakery remains compliant with safety regulations.
- Serve as Manager On Duty (MOD) on scheduled days, taking responsibility for on-site staffing, the quality and quantity of baked goods, and covering positions in cases of absence.
- Issue disciplinary action or write-ups when necessary, maintaining professionalism and fairness.
Requirements:
- Positive, energetic attitude and the ability to motivate and inspire the team.
- Self-motivated with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Comfortable delivering constructive feedback and managing conflicts within the team.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of food preparation and safety.
- Available to work weekends and flexible hours.
- Proven experience in bakery leadership or a supervisory role, ideally in a bakery or culinary setting.
- Able to lift 50 lbs
