General Functions
KRC is seeking a skilled and client-focused Professional Engineer to join our team in Wasilla, Alaska. The ideal candidate will have an established network of client relationships and the ability to work directly with clients, lead discussions during presentations and project meetings, and collaborate within a multi-discipline team. This role requires strong communication (oral and written), analytical, and problem-solving skills. A registered professional engineer (PE) with a license in Alaska or the ability to obtain one is preferred, but experienced engineers meeting the role’s requirements will also be considered.
Role and Responsibilities
· Lead the design and construction administration of engineering projects in bulk fuel storage, oil and gas, industrial, and commercial sectors.
· Work on new construction projects as well as modifications to existing facilities.
· Specialize in areas such as tank farms, piping systems, loading racks (truck, rail, marine), structural assessments, electrical system designs, HVAC, and other relevant engineering disciplines.
· Develop and review engineering plans, specifications, reports, and project documentation.
· Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and consultants, managing client relationships and ensuring quality project deliverables.
· Collaborate with internal design teams, including architects and other engineers, to develop high-quality project solutions.
· Ensure compliance with industry codes, regulations, and project-specific requirements (e.g., API 650/653, ASCE, NEC, AISC, ASHRAE, etc.).
· Travel as needed for client meetings, site assessments, and project execution.
Technical Job Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering (or related field) from an accredited university. Equivalent years of industry experience may also be considered.
· Professional Engineer (PE) license in Alaska or the ability to obtain licensure.
· Minimum 5 years of industry experience (10 years preferred).
· Proven experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Mechanical: HVAC, piping systems, fuel storage, and industrial systems.
- Electrical: Power distribution, lighting, controls, and industrial electrical design.
- Civil: Site development, drainage, grading, and foundation engineering.
- Structural: Building design, seismic analysis, steel/concrete structures, and industrial facilities.
· Familiarity with government contracting and oil and gas industry standards is a plus.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and industry-standard engineering software.
· Strong problem-solving ability and experience with cost estimating.
