General Functions:

Maintain data files and control procedures for a system of networked computers or for a single group of microcomputers linked to a host workstation, or mainframe. Maintain system security and data integrity. Assign passwords and monitor use of resources, backup files as required and work with management to define requests for information. Receive a moderate level of guidance and direction. Requires expanded conceptual knowledge in own area of expertise while developing additional skill sets. Solve standard problems by analyzing possible solutions using

experience, judgment, and precedents. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team; works within guidelines and policies. Explains information to others in straightforward situatons.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain processes and procedures, while adhering to established policies.
  • Monitor new complex systems.
  • Configure and install systems hardware or software and maintain server and domain security requirements.
  • Solve complex networking and administration issues and use critical thinking to support network functionality alongside Network Technicians.
  • Plan and schedule the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and applications sotfware.
  • Manage accounts, network rights, access to systems and equipment.
  • Resolve hardware and software interface and interoperability problems.
  • Ensure systems availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency.
  • Maintain systems configuration and manage the installation and integration of system fixes, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Perform feasibility studies on complex information systems and conduct in-depth analysis complicated by novel problems.
  • Participate in Management meetings, discussions, committees, and special projects.
  • Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.
  • No supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance to new associates.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology; additional six (6) years of experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ of relevant experience required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft System Administration and/or Linux Administration.


Preferred Qualifications:

Training: Technical Training in commercial or government fuel terminal/pipeline operations or projects to include experience with IT/OT environments in ICS/SCADA systems for Automated Fuel Systems such as:

  • Automated Fuel Handling Equipment (AFHE)
  • Automated Tank Gauging (ATG)
  • Independent Alarm System (IAS)
  • Overfill Protection Equipment (OPE)
  • Hydrant Fueling Automation Maintenance (HFAM) system.
  • Hydrant Automation Monitoring System (HAMS)
  • Electronic Leak Detection (ELD)
  • Automated Fuel Service Station (AFSS) equipment.


Security Clearance Requirements: Ability to obtain, or active Security Clearance.


Physical Requirements:

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office produc􀆟vity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
