Summary/Objective
The Equipment Specialist position is responsible to ensure adequate equipment is available to employees - both quantity and quality. Perform skilled duties that may include, minor electrical and other recognized crafts for the purpose of maintaining and repairing equipment.
Essential Functions
- Maintain, repair, and inventory equipment used by sign setters and flaggers. This includes
- All roll-up signs
- Stop/Slow paddles
- Lights/Batteries
- Arrowboard/Arrowboard Trailers
- Barrels/Cones/Candlesticks
- Temporary Sign Supports
- Jersey Barrier Sign Stands
- Windmaster Stands/Stationery Stands
- Fill Sand Bags
- Keep shop, shed, and barn organized, clean and secure.
- Maintain proper tools and supplies in order to make repairs to flagging equipment.
- Ensure office has adequate lighting, all plumbing fixtures are leak-free, windows, doors and screens are in good, working condition.
- Facilitate or assist in any special projects that may change the office or grounds. Suggest methods or plans for approval.
- Assist sign setters with equipment check-out or returns and maintain inventory control records.
- Responsible to identify rented equipment that must be returned.
- Identify roll-up signs that require industrial sewing repairs. Remove sign from frame for delivery to outside repair.
- Repair signs that the script or image are fading away (must be painted black), back to original condition.
- Maintain reflective collars on cones/candlesticks and clean cones/candlesticks that have excess dirt or tar from work zones.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Required Education and Experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Successful completion of drug test
- Successful completion of background screen
License and Certification
- Possess a valid state drivers license, in the state you reside in.
