What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inline Operator position at K.G. Stevens?
Daily Responsibilities:
· Receives cut countertop parts from the saw-marking for proper polish and job information
· Operates inline polishing equipment (KSL’s and Marmo) to polish designated edges
· Distributes marked and polished parts to the next departments (CNC/waterjet/finish polish) based on work order
· Place colored cones on conveyor with completed parts to identify which machine will receive and complete the next step on that part.
· Uses overhead crane to distribute parts throughout the production departments.
· Assist with various other duties as needed
· Contributes toward a positive team environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Understand technical information on drawings/plans in English
- Prior experience operating a crane is preferred
- Time management and ability to multi-task
- Ability to follow instructions, read paperwork and communicate with others to complete tasks
- Aptitude for problem solving while working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to take measurements and make calculations
- Possess computer skills and have an ability to learn our job tracking software program
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Be safety conscious
- Have a positive attitude, possess a strong work ethic, and have a desire to work with and help others achieve our production goals
- Possess the desire to learn a new skill
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to airborne particles and moderate to high noise levels while in the shop. Safety equipment is provided for employees that will be in these areas. In addition, the employee will be standing for long periods of time and must be able to handle hot and cold temperature changes.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally need to lift or move objects over 70 pounds. Must be able to properly bend, reach and lift without reasonable accommodations.
