The Secondary Lock Desk Specialist is responsible for analyzing interest rate risk for mortgage loans related to maintaining loans and delivering into the secondary market. This position works independently, accurately, and efficiently to resolve any issues and works closely with all internal and external departments, groups and vendors. In addition, this position works with the Senior Vice President, Secondary Marketing to develop risk-management strategies employing secondary market investment tools and techniques.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Works with leadership in managing investor relationships associated with the securing, selling, development and pricing of mortgage products.
- Act as a liaison to investors including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and multiple non-GSE mortgage loan investors to maintain favorable relationships. Ensure optimal trade execution and effectively manage risk.
- Understand and execute Margin Management strategies that help maintain overall company objectives.
- Monitors lock requests, pipeline, and pull through. Authorize pricing negotiations and concessions; enforce policy guidelines.
- Provides expertise and serves as a resource to all account managers regarding common practices for lock-in policies and procedures in the mortgage banking industry.
- Performs post-closing activities, as they relate to the sales of funded loans.
- Commit and register loans with investors.to include data input of lock information in LOS. Monitor outstanding commitments and expiration dates.
- Audit and confirm rate lock requests including original rate locks, floats, re-locks, extensions and cancellations. Review and confirm rate lock requests including original rate locks, floats, re-locks, extensions and cancellations.
Qualifications
Education and / or Experience
A four year college degree in business is preferred and a minimum of 7 years of mortgage banking experience, or equivalent combination of both. This is a HYBRID role, so you will need to be commutable to the Boynton Beach mortgage office.
