Packet Broker Migration
Tasks
Provide Assist with planning and preparation for Packet Broker Platform migration across all locations
Review existing device configurations
Plan new device configuration requirements based on existing configurations
Identify redundant links and plan migration accordingly to minimize connectivity impact
Perform required configuration activities based on existing device configurations across each location
Coordinate with local engineers on physical installation schedule to begin remote configuration upon install completion
Perform required configuration activities to cutover planned traffic connections during maintenance windows
Coordinate with local engineers as physical cable connections will be moved as part of cutover
Ensure configurations are complete and correct for cutover
Validate traffic flow and connectivity following physical cutover
Decommission original device following identified post-cutover period
New Deployment and Feature Enhancements
Tasks
Provide detailed design for new packet broker deployments across 52 sites, including :
Associated detail designs, spreadsheet, and other artifacts required for installation
Provide final accessibility validation of newly deployed packet brokers
Provide Packet Broker engineering designs Network to site engineers across the country in support of new device for expansion and new capacity
Work remotely with onsite engineers to implement packet broker configurations for new devices
Configure new product enhancements, as available, to maximize availability of the packet broker environment
Communicate all designs, standards, and other necessary information to engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders as required for new installations
Post Deployment Troubleshooting / Operational Support
Tasks
Review email and remedy tickets remedy ticket support requests and investigate user discrepancy issues.
Utilize visibility solutions for Network Function Virtualization (NFV) to monitor overall health and performance
Provided escalation assistance as needed to the Verizon Packet Broker Operations team
Maintain packet broker configuration standards
Assistance with any device OS upgrades that may be needed
Assistance team with Testing and Validation requirements for environment
Responsible for overall packet broker health and performance.
Conduct or direct regular audits
Ensuring alarms are sufficient and healthy
Perform continuance enhancements to minimize potential for any failures
