We are seeking a Pricing Analyst to join our Pittsburgh office. The Pricing Analyst's primary responsibilities revolve around working with our lawyer and allied professional teams in order to develop appropriate fee solutions meeting client demands while maintaining and improving the firm's profitability. This role is a part of a highly cross-functional team working with all levels of legal and allied professionals across the firm. This position will assist the firm's Pricing Managers and Director in the preparation and analysis of the Firm's historical work and new pricing solutions in order to be able to advise, propose, and subsequently assist in the development of appropriate fee arrangements - including hourly and alternative solutions - and the creation of matter budgets. This individual will also be highly involved in the annual rate setting process, focusing their attention on practice-specific rate strategy and execution. In addition, the Analyst will help prepare firm-wide training on legal pricing principals, matter management, and matter budgeting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Creating and evaluating alternative pricing solutions and matter budgets
- Analyzing and reporting on individual matter performance (eg, budget vs actual) in a timely and accurate manner
- Strong understanding of matter management and budget tools (Clocktimizer, Iridium, Cosine, etc.)
- Creating and generating matter performance statistics and KPI reports for management and practice groups for a range of matters
- Interacting with groups across the firm and working directly with attorneys, as well as Finance, Marketing, IT and other departments
- Developing Best Practices and benchmarking for pricing, primarily for their assigned practice areas
- Developing solutions to complex data analysis and reporting requirements while keeping in mind the scope, limitations and impact to other integrated solutions
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
- Work independently with lawyers to develop solutions, project performance, and evaluate matter progress through completion
- Drive and challenge lawyers on their assumptions underpinning their approach to fee arrangements
- Possess strong situational awareness and the ability to diffuse difficult or contentious situations

Compensation Salary $82,000 - $154,000
The compensation salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
