We are seeking a Director, Conflicts & New Business Intake to join the firm. This position is responsible for developing and executing all firm policies and procedures relating to Conflicts and New Business Intake. The Director acts as a liaison between the office of the General Counsel and Directors of Administration, Office Managing Partners, Practice Area Leaders and Departmental Directors in order to facilitate firm growth while administering appropriate risk management measures and establishing best practices.

The compensation salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.

We are seeking a Director, Conflicts & New Business Intake to join the firm. This position is responsible for developing and executing all firm policies and procedures relating to Conflicts and New Business Intake. Key duties include but are not limited to Essential duties
- Provides guidance to all Conflicts and New Business Intake team members to ensure consistency in application of firm policies and procedures associated with Conflicts and New Business Intake, Lateral Hiring Due Diligence and Ethical Screens/Information Barriers
- Collaborates with Directors of Administration, all internal Departments, Practice Area Leaders and General Counsel to establish best practices, ensure business continuity and facilitate firm growth
- Anticipates, identifies, communicates, and offers solutions for potential risks and inconsistencies related to, and impacting, Conflicts and New Business Intake initiatives
- Continually evaluates existing processes against current industry trends to identify areas for productivity and/or cost efficiencies
- Sponsors a customer service focused approach, offering assistance along with training and education to help foster a global understanding of the Firm’s Risk Assessment policies while taking into consideration regional practices
- Assists with coordination of Conflicts and New Business Intake processes amongst all of the firm’s offices to ensure consistency and accuracy in adherence to jurisdictional regulations
- Assists with presentation of educational/training presentations to lawyers and employees regarding Conflicts and New Business Intake requests and procedures
- Assist with presentation of educational/training presentations to lawyers and employees regarding New Business Intake requests and conflicts resolution procedures
- Abide by all policies, work procedures, instructions and confidentiality of all information
- Coordinates with the Associate Directors on periodic audits of the conflicts database to ensure accuracy of client information within the database
- Works with Associate Directors in preparing and implementing Conflicts and New Business Intake policies and procedures
- Recommends training and cross-training for staff as needed
- Assists with workload distribution amongst Conflicts and New Business Intake Department staff
- Juris Doctor degree required along with management or human resources background
- Familiarity with the Rules of Professional Conduct and other ethical rules applicable to conflicts and client engagement processes
- Demonstrated competencies and understanding of all aspects of the Conflicts and New Business Intake process that is obtained through working at a management level in the Conflicts Department
- Excellent leadership ability
- Effectively manages and communicates confidential issues
- Ability to work effectively and interact with all levels of management, including executive leadership
- Ability to oversee multiple functions while leading and directing staff
- Ability to deal with stress associated with a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective analytical, problem-solving and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service-based approach
- Must be detail oriented and organized
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism
- This job operates in an office setting and is largely sedentary, requiring the routine use of a computer and other standard office equipment. The ability to open file cabinets, lift files, bend and stand on a stool may also be required.
