What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Construction Safety Manager position at K L Masters Construction Company?
The Safety Senior Safety Manager reports directly to the President and Senior Project Management Team and maintains proactive, frequent, and open communication.
Job Duties:
· Oversees safety staff and provides support to ensure compliance with all aspects of safety
· Manages hazard assessment activities by 1) conducting and/or supervising safety inspections, and 2) analyzing inspection and incident data to identify opportunities to develop preventive and corrective practices
· Supports the project management and superintendent staff regarding all Subcontractor job specific Safety Programs
· Review new Subcontractor pre-qualification documentation to ensure they have an acceptable safety record and communicate with project management of their acceptance or rejection
· Plan and implement risk management, safety policies and procedures in compliance with all federal, state, county and local rules and regulations, for both field and office operations, to maximize a safe working environment
· Act as corporate contact for any federal, state, or municipal safety or risk management authority and/or personnel, including, but not limited to OSHA
· Experience managing and hiring third party safety firms
· Reviews accident and incident reports
· Lead incident investigation process, including cause analysis
· Leads Safety Committee
· Prepares monthly safety reports to present to management
· Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting
· Ensure new employees receive safety orientation prior to beginning work. Emphasize any specific site hazards and thoroughly explain all applicable precautions
· Plan and implement programs to train employees in work site safety practices
· Provide training and education to all levels of staff, as required, by Federal and State safety regulations
· Develops annual plans & budgets for safety & health initiatives, including training
· Manage and oversee employee recognition program
Position Requirements and Qualifications
· Minimum 7-10 years of direct safety experience
· Bachelor’s degree, preferably in safety engineering or related field
· Board Certified Safety Professional Designation: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate
· Safety Professional (ASP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST),
· OSHA 510 Certification within last 24 months
· Appropriate OSHA certifications (including 40 hour Hazwoper)
· American Red Cross CPR / First Aid / AED Certified
· Drug and Alcohol Reasonable Suspicion Training
· Excellent communication, both written and verbal, skills and able to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the company and vendors.
· Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities, problem-solving skills, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, detail oriented
· Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a fast paced, changing work environment.
· Ability to work with all teams internally and externally.
Salary : $150,000 - $200,000
