What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Graphic Designer position at K&N Engineering Inc?
K&N Engineering, Inc. based in Riverside, CA, has an immediate need for a Senior Graphic Designer. This person will be responsible for concepting and designing a variety of print and digital assets for all K&N brands and product categories.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for production of various marketing materials, including but not limited to:
- Art design from start to finish for various print and digital marketing materials such as knfilters.com website content, social media, internet reseller imagery, product packaging, brochures, flyers and P.O.P. pieces.
- Take part in the development and revision process of all Company packaging across multiple product lines and box types and sizes.
- Work with brand managers, copywriters, social media team, R&D, sales and other graphic artists to collaboratively accomplish all design goals.
- Create physical and digital samples of packaging concepts for internal and external presentations.
- Manage all processes related to pre-press production such as checking files for digital problems, color corrections, color specifications of PMS spots, images and text flowing and font setups.
- Create and maintain a complete library of electronic copies of all projects produced.
- Color correct, create clipping paths and export photographic elements for use on all print and digital collateral.
- Assistance with proofing and reviewing proofs from press.
- Extensive inter- and intra- departmental interaction is expected.
- Ensure visual consistency of packaging and creative assets via use of style guides and enforcement of established standards and best practices.
- Consistently look for ways to increase customer impact while reducing costs in packaging materials and printing expenses.
- Handle special projects when requested.
Experience, Skills & Education:
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Extensive hands-on experience with publishing software including Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign is required.
- Experience with and ability to apply knowledge of printing processes and techniques.
- Ability to apply knowledge of Mac OS systems.
- Knowledge of photography specs and processing of images is required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to balance quality and quantity of work.
Additional Qualities Necessary:
- Must be very well organized, demonstrate the ability to prioritize and follow through on all tasks and projects with limited supervision.
- Have a strong attention to detail and ability to find and correct design problems.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with K&N personnel and/or vendors in a 1-on-1 or team situation.
- Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates print and digital art creation across a variety of product types and environments.
- Consistently present a positive K&N image.
