Summary
The Air Quality Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing environmental field activities, permitting, and compliance activities for K.P. Kauffman Company, Inc. operations. Develop and implement practices and procedures to assure timely preparation of permit applications, receipt of permits and approvals, regulatory compliance, and regulatory reporting and record keeping. The Air Quality Specialist is accountable for Colorado Reg 3 & Reg 7 compliance and reporting across KPK’s assets. This person will follow federal and state regulations and regulatory actions, understand the rules applicability, and translate that to KPK operations.
Essential Functions
Primary roles and responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of APENs and APEN updates
- Preservation of 12-month rolling emission logs
- CO oil and gas air permitting and compliance
- Preparation of technical documents, including compliance procedures, plans, and permit applications
- Technical and regulatory research and applicability determination of various air-related requirements
- Recordkeeping and reporting for LDAR programs under CDPHE Reg. No. 7
- Regulatory compliance auditing
- NSPS OOOOa reporting
- GHG review/reporting
- CDPHE Reg. No. 7 Emissions Inventory
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulatory standards and compliance practices as they relate to air emissions; knowledge of EPA Federal Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program and Colorado Reg 7 Emissions Inventory;
- Demonstrated experience with air quality emissions calculations;
- Flexible to work in an evolving regulatory environment;
- Excellent project management skills;
- Strong attention to detail with analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills;
- Motivated self-starter with a strong sense of integrity;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to work collaboratively within a team and across teams;
- Familiarity with oilfield equipment, processes, and terminology.
- Experience with controls and auditing processes.
Working Settings
- 80% office environment, 20% field environment;
- Travel between the KPK office and various oil & gas field operations as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering, science, or a related field.
- 2-6 years of air quality permitting and/or compliance experience.
- Effective personal time management skills with multiple projects.
- A high level of professional ethics.
- Social skills and professionalism are necessary to establish and maintain long-term working relationships with regulatory staff.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
