Performance Trailers, a K-Solv Group Company, founded in 1991, has established a reputation as a leader in the design and construction of custom trailers used to carry everything from racing cars to portable corporate displays. The company has designed trailers for such companies as Ford Motor Co., General Motors, Nissan, and Toyota, which use the trailers to transport multimillion-dollar concept cars to trade shows.


We are seeking a motivated, qualified individual to join our company as a General Manager who will oversee the day-to-day operations of our customized trailer production. This role will be responsible for managing the production process, ensuring operational efficiency, leading a diverse team, maintaining a safe and productive work environment, and driving financial performance. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership and operational skills, with the ability to manage Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibilities and achieve company goals.  All work will be performed in accordance with applicable guidelines, Company safety procedures, Department of Transportation (DOT) standards, OSHA regulations.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the production process, ensuring the timely and quality completion of custom trailer builds from design to delivery.
  • Supervise, direct, and coach a team of leads, production workers, and administrative employees ensuring effective communication, performance management, and engagement across all levels.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to employees, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Lead and provide feedback in interviewing, onboarding, training, promotions, corrective actions, and terminations.
  • Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue generation. Manage the P&L ensuring profitability and meeting or exceeding financial targets.
  • Collaborate with company leadership on developing and implementing strategies to drive business growth and long-term success.
  • Optimize operational workflows and production processes to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness, while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure that materials, equipment, and resources are available to meet production demands while maintaining inventory practices. Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts.
  • Conduct regular team huddles, safety meetings, and inspections of equipment and machinery to ensure proper functioning and maintenance.
  • Maintain and enforce high-quality standards throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring all trailers meet customer specifications and industry regulations. Address any customer issues or challenges promptly and effectively, developing solutions that reduce downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities in compliance with company and DOT requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment and ensure employees follow safety guidelines and perform duties in a safe manner.
  • Observe and enforce all safety and security procedures, report unsafe conditions, and properly use equipment.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a senior management role, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, with a strong background in production management, operations, and P&L responsibility.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams and driving operational success.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Microsoft Office experience.

  • Excellent financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, analyze financial reports, and make strategic decisions to improve profitability.
  • Ability to lead, direct, motivate, and train employees. 
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control principles, and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments and with external partners.
  • Demonstrate the ability to safely set up, operate, and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend associated documents, Standard Operating Procedures, and SDS sheets.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies in the field.

Salary : $130,000 - $180,000
