What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrician position at K-VA-T Food Stores Inc?
JOB SUMMARY: The Electrician is responsible for the support of the retail operation through maintenance, installation and repair of electrical distribution systems, generators, and equipment used in retail stores, offices, and warehouses.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Take ownership of the electrical systems in K-VA-T facilities and become a proactive partner of the stores in his/her assigned facilities.
- Conduct periodic checks and perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems so that critical failures do not occur.
- Diagnose and maintain all aspects of the high and low voltage electrical switch gears, panels, and feeds throughout the facilities.
- Install new and remove old equipment and associated electrical systems as needed for remodels and upgrades.
- Conceive and help develop procedures and strategies that can be adopted companywide for improved performance, reduced down time and cost reduction.
- Maintain all records necessary for government and company purposes.
- Responsible for attending on-site work during normal business hours, in the typical work week, as well as extra time as needed to fulfill job duties
- Ensure all aspects of company policy and procedures in regards to good business and department practices are followed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical systems installation and maintenance.
- Experience with supermarket systems (generator, electrical, refrigeration equipment, processing equipment and energy management systems, etc.) is a plus.
- Valid unexpired U.S. driver’s license.
- Must pass physical exam and drug screen.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
- Ability to attend on-site work during normal business hours, in the typical work week, as well as extra time as needed to fulfill job duties
