As the Director of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships, you will report directly to the VP of BD & Strategic Partnerships and play a pivotal role in our Commercial Team. This position is centered around driving high-growth results in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment, focused on achieving new business revenue objectives and strengthening existing client relationships.
Your skills as a strategic hunter will be indispensable as you identify, target, cultivate, structure, and close new sales opportunities. You will also contribute to shaping our overall Commercial Strategy, leveraging market insights to enhance our sales pipeline and drive growth.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Build a robust funnel of business opportunities and nurture strategic customer relationships within the Drug Product sectors.
- Design and execute a comprehensive sales strategy targeting Drug Product companies in your assigned territories.
- Identify and develop new business prospects from various sources, including industry contacts and leads from our website and Inside Sales team.
- Collaborate closely with the Commercial leadership team to align business development efforts with overall growth objectives.
- Lead the client project team by driving account strategy, managing business relationships, and ensuring alignment between internal teams and client needs.
- Assist in contract negotiations with the guidance of legal counsel and senior management to ensure compliance and execution.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and conferences while fostering relationships within industry trade groups.
- Gather market intelligence on customers, competitors, and industry trends to inform strategic decisions.
- Identify commercial portfolio opportunities and risks to drive new revenue streams.
- Lead and execute business development initiatives, including partner outreach and transaction structuring.
- Develop business analyses to support sales pipeline evaluation and assess the impact of market changes.
- Build effective partnerships with Operations, Program Management, and Finance to support commercial opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of commercial and competitive strategies.
- Provide regular presentations on business development opportunities and pipeline status in various forums.
- Manage lead development processes efficiently within your defined sales territory.
- Enhance brand awareness through strategic client engagement and service excellence.
- Travel required to industry events, conferences, and key stakeholder meetings, typically up to 30-50% of the time.
