Parking Lot Safety Assistant – Weekday Mornings (7:00 AM – 9:00 AM)
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to assist with school bus and pedestrian safety in a school parking lot during weekday mornings. This role is essential in helping to ensure a safe environment for students, staff, and drivers during busy drop-off hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage vehicle flow in the parking lot using hand signals, traffic cones, and a whistle.
- Gain the attention of drivers and signal them to stop to allow safe entry and exit of school buses.
- Maintain a calm and controlled traffic environment, despite occasional congestion.
Qualifications:
- Experience in traffic direction or a similar role such as a crossing guard, construction flagger, or parking attendant.
- Strong awareness of pedestrian and vehicle safety.
- Ability to stand outdoors and remain alert during a 2-hour morning shift.
- Clear communication skills and confident use of non-verbal signals.
Note: This is a parking lot setting—vehicle speeds are generally low, but vigilance is key to preventing accidents and ensuring smooth operations.
