What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at K2 MANUFACUTRING, LLC?
Our company is a manufacturer and distributor of welded and machined components for the light and medium duty trailer market. We are looking for full-time Quality Inspectors to work with our production and engineering team. This is a “hands on” position, working side by side with our production and engineering staff.
With minimal supervision, the Inspector is responsible for assuring conformance to company and quality assurance requirements for manufacturing and installation of components for trailer axles. This role will report to the Production Team lead and will lead the production line flow/staff at the direction of their team lead. The Inspector will also support strategic, operational, and daily goals at the assigned line while supporting the production process to assist in preventing recurrences of quality escapes into other areas production process or to the end user.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform and/or assists with internal layered process audits.
- Support customer issues & special requirements, quality audits, quality initiatives.
- Ability to train team members on their line’s general production roles
- Perform follow up reviews to validate conformance to engineering and quality acceptance criteria as appropriate
- Make recommendations and participate in training problem solving teams to improve the efficiency or effectiveness of the quality and production improvements
- Support implementation and analysis of current and new process and product introductions
- Miscellaneous Responsibilities/Activities:
- Establish and maintain effective communications, both written and oral.

- Minimal PC skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis in excel.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and shifting time requirements. Must be able to promote a participative, team-oriented environment, working with customers (both internal and external), and visitors in a professional and respectful manner.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general engineering documents and specifications. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from line, team leader, and senior leadership.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
Excellent communication skills. Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and written.
Mathematical Skills
General math skills required. Must be able to read a tape measure
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and /or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems that arise throughout production.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
