Position Summary
As a Technology Account Manager (TAM), you will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building long-term relationships and ensuring their IT needs align with their business goals. You will be responsible for managing client expectations, conducting IT audits, identifying risks, and facilitating proactive planning.
A successful TAM at K3 Technology is highly organized, client-focused, and possesses strong technical insight to guide clients through IT decision-making. This role requires a balance of business acumen and IT service delivery experience to provide proactive solutions and optimize client environments.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
Maintain regular client meetings (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) to assess service delivery and address concerns
Act as a trusted technology advisor, developing strong relationships with key client stakeholders
Advocate for clients within K3 Technology, ensuring their technical needs are met and aligned with business objectives
Assist with Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and facilitate annual IT roadmap planning for proactive support and infrastructure upgrades
Technical Oversight & Auditing
Conduct IT audits of client environments, including:
File share permission reviews to ensure proper access control
Active Directory (AD) structure audits to optimize security and efficiency
Microsoft 365 security reviews to enforce best practices
Server configuration assessments to ensure compliance and performance
Network firmware updates and infrastructure reviews to maintain security and reliability
Identify gaps, security risks, and inefficiencies, providing clear recommendations for improvement
Service Delivery & Problem Resolution
Track and manage client technical issues, ensuring full resolution rather than temporary mitigation
Work closely with the service desk and engineering teams to escalate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues
Ensure timely follow-ups and resolutions on all client-reported problems
Monitor Service-Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensure the team is meeting or exceeding client expectations
Strategic Planning & Business Alignment
Align IT solutions with clients quarterly and annual business objectives to support growth, security, and operational efficiency
Provide clients with technology recommendations that enhance productivity and security
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the right resources are allocated to client needs
Proactive IT Management & Best Practices
Continuously monitor client environments to ensure compliance with industry best practices and evolving security threats
Guide clients on technology lifecycle management, advising on upgrades, migrations, and end-of-life planning
White Glove Support & Client Success
Deliver a high-touch, white-glove experience, ensuring clients feel valued and supported
Educate clients on IT best practices, security risks, and optimization opportunities
Preferred Skills
Client Relationship Management: Proven ability to build and maintain long-term relationships while acting as a strategic IT advisor
Strategic IT Consulting: Experience conducting QBRs, developing IT roadmaps, and aligning IT solutions with business needs
Technical Oversight: Ability to review IT environments for security gaps, inefficiencies, and compliance risks
Service Delivery & Issue Resolution: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, ensuring escalations are managed effectively
Business & IT Alignment: Understanding of how IT solutions impact business operations and how to drive technology improvements
Proactive IT Management: Experience monitoring IT environments, recommending security enhancements, and improving operational efficiency
White Glove Support: Commitment to providing an exceptional client experience through proactive communication and responsiveness
Collaboration & Leadership: Ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
Qualifications
3 years in a Technology Account Manager, vCIO, IT Consultant, or similar client-facing IT role within an MSP or IT service provider environment
Experience managing client relationships, conducting IT reviews, and providing strategic technology recommendations
Ability to review Active Directory structures, Microsoft 365 security settings, server configurations, and network infrastructure at a high level
Understanding of IT best practices related to security, compliance, and IT lifecycle management
Ability to bridge technical and business conversations, ensuring IT investments support client business objectives
Experience aligning IT strategies with client growth plans and operational needs
