Key Responsibilities:
Design Development & Conceptualization:
- Work with senior architects to develop architectural designs, from conceptual sketches to refined plans.
- Collaborate with clients and team members to understand the project’s requirements and translate them into creative, practical design solutions.
- Provide input on architectural concepts, materials, and finishes that align with the project vision and budget.
- Create conceptual drawings, sketches, and 3D models to visualize design ideas.
Schematic, Design Intent & Construction Documentation:
- Prepare detailed architectural drawings and construction documents, including floor plans, sections, elevations, and site plans.
- Ensure that all construction documents comply with building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards.
- Revise and update plans based on feedback from senior architects, engineers, and clients.
Coordination & Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other team members, including engineers, designers, and project managers, to ensure designs are feasible, functional, and meet project goals.
- Assist in coordinating the integration of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems into architectural designs.
- Work with contractors and consultants during the construction phase to ensure designs are executed as planned.
Client Presentations & Communication:
- Prepare presentation materials, including design drawings, models, and renderings, to communicate ideas to clients and stakeholders.
- Participate in client meetings to present design concepts and gather feedback.
- Provide timely updates to clients on project status and any design changes or challenges.
Site Analysis & Research:
- Conduct site visits to analyze site conditions and gather relevant data, such as topography, measurements, and environmental factors.
- Research materials, building systems, and construction techniques to recommend the best options for the project.
- Assist in evaluating local codes, zoning laws, and accessibility guidelines to ensure designs are compliant with regulations.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in architectural design, with experience in creating conceptual designs, drafting construction documents, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in architectural design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of design principles, building materials, and construction methods.
- Ability to create detailed architectural drawings, presentations, and 3D models.
- Strong understanding of building codes, zoning laws, and accessibility regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and collaborate with team members and clients.
- Creative, detail-oriented, and able to think critically about design challenges.
