From Kennel Assistant to Dog Trainer

We are hiring for a dog trainer to join our team. All of our trainers are initially trained by the owners of the company starting as a kennel assistant. Once we see that you can handle behind the scenes, we will begin to teach you how to train dogs. Responsibilities will increase until you are ready to go on your own and take the dogs home to train independently. YOU MUST BE ALLOWED TO HAVE ATLEAST 2 DOGS IN YOUR HOME- We do NOT need a permanent kennel assistant, we need a trainer. If you cannot bring dogs home, do not apply.

Initial duties as a kennel assistant would include:

Feeding dogs breakfast, dinner, and any supplements they came with

Taking them out for both play time and potty breaks

Cleaning up after the dogs. This includes, their kennels, the dog room, bathroom, and picking up after them in the yard

Taking daily pictures and videos of the pups having fun, so we can send them to the client

All of our dogs have already been trained or are in training, so reinforcing the good behavior, and remaining consistent with rules and commands

Weekly deep clean of all dog areas

Giving Dogs baths as needed and also right before they go home

Meeting clients to drop off and pick up dogs for boarding. MUST have a reliable, clean vehicle, clean driving record, and valid drivers license

Once you have the basics under your belt, we will start to teach you how to train dogs our way. You will initially shadow us, then work along side us. Once you are able to train a dog A-Z and your probationary period is up, you will be allowed to train them at your home independently. You will do a combination of private lessons and board and trains. Part time trainers make 40k and full time trainers make between 60-75k a year. Lots of opportunites for growth and extra income. Must be a self starter, good with dogs, people, and have excellent communication skills.

Kennel Assistant hours will be combination of morning, mid day, and evening shifts. We can be a little flexible on the days and hours, and they will be as early as 7am and ending between 8-9pm. Must be available to work on the weekends and holidays. Must pass background check.

Trainer hours will be your own to make. We meet once a week for group training, and other than that, you make your own schedule as an independent trainer.
