As a Blast Booth Operator for manufacturing at K.A Group, you will operate and maintain blast‑booth equipment, ensuring every part is prepped to the highest standard for painting. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Operation
- Shot-Blast product and parts to remove mill scale to provide proper profile.
- Operate blast booth to clean, strip, or prepare surfaces per job specifications.
- Adjust blasting equipment settings to achieve desired results while minimizing material waste.
- Light maintenance includes cleaning booths, loading grit, and changing filters.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Monitor and maintain ventilation systems and dust collectors to control airborne particles and contaminants.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure its proper use by all personnel in the vicinity of the blast booth.
Maintenance and Cleaning
- Perform regular maintenance checks on blast booths and associated equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Clean and maintain blast booths and related tools and equipment to prevent corrosion and ensure longevity.
Quality Control
- Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to verify cleanliness, adherence to specifications, and quality standards.
- Report any deviations or issues with blasting processes or equipment to supervisors.
Documentation and Record-Keeping
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and equipment maintenance activities.
- Complete required paperwork such as job tickets, inspection reports, and safety logs.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Effectively and safely operate a variety of assigned tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to abrasive blasting.
- Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy equipment and work in a physically demanding environment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Preferred 2 Years manufacturing experience.
- Proven experience as a blast booth operator or similar role in an industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of blasting techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Certification in abrasive blasting techniques or equipment operation.
- Experience with different types of blasting media and their applications.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations related to blasting operations.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Loud, dusty environment and involves extended periods of standing, bending, and lifting.
- 10-hour shifts
