ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manufacturing Engineer Manager will play a key role in improving manufacturing processes, developing new technologies, and fostering a culture of excellence within the engineering team.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of manufacturing processes to ensure the highest quality standards, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, supply chain, and R&D to improve product designs and manufacturing processes.
- Drive the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to optimize manufacturing workflows and reduce waste.
- Analyze production data, troubleshoot issues, and develop solutions to improve production efficiency and product quality.
- Manage capital improvement projects, from planning to execution, to enhance manufacturing capabilities and capacity.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, promoting a safe and compliant working environment.
- Develop and manage manufacturing budgets, cost controls, and resource allocation.
- Stay current with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in manufacturing engineering and provide recommendations for process advancements.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership, communicating progress, challenges, and recommendations.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and drive change in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred:
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certifications.
- Experience in [specific industry, e.g., automotive, electronics, aerospace, etc.].
- Knowledge of automation and robotics in manufacturing processes.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, automation, and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with CAD, ERP, and other engineering software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SAP, etc.).
WORKING CONDITIONS
- This position typically operates in an office environment with regular visits to the manufacturing plant.
- Occasional travel may be required to supplier sites or other company facilities.
- The role may require lifting and carrying materials up to 50 pounds.
