About the role:
The re-Authorization Representative will obtain authorizations for ongoing patient care and serve as a liaison between external service providers, 3rd party payors, and internal departments. This role requires a high level of organization and good customer service skills as you will be interacting with insurance companies, physician offices, and the patients themselves.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Notifies internal team members, Account Executives, doctors and patients of authorization status, patient issues, and/or delays in care.
- Prepares Financial Obligation Notifications FOBs, annually and throughout the year if the insurance or the plan changes.
- Updates' computer system with any changes in insurance, insurance plan or benefits; collects and processes co-insurance payments.
- Processes rejections from Part D payers.
- Investigates reimbursement issues from the Suspend Report.
- Works with the Accounts Receivable Department to resolve insurance, claims or payment issues.
As a Reauthorization Representative, you bring:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous work experience in the home health or medical fields.
- 1-2 years of authorization, intake and eligibility experience.
- Previous experience in the home infusion, home health or medical field preferred
