What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineering Technician position at KAD Staffing?
Assist Manufacturing Engineers in the development and documentation of processes for assigned equipment. Train and provide leadership and guidance to operators on how to operate and set-up equipment. Troubleshoot technical issues and look to improve established procedures / processes.
Duties :
- Shop floor support - methods and tooling support, process documentation updates and maintenance, routings / rates, time studies, waste identification and elimination.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineers in defining the settings and parameters via Visual Work Instructions or Operation Methods Sheets to successfully perform the routed steps for assigned work centers. Create programs necessary to run assigned work centers. Provide technical troubleshooting.
- Evaluate the layout and make suggestions to optimize flow.
- Contribute to cost reduction efforts by leading process improvement projects to eliminate waste.
- Assist Mfg Engs with new product introduction activities driven through the APQP4 process especially in the pilot run. This will include representing Mfg Engineering in cross functional team meetings and performing feasibility studies to identify rate errors or to develop rate standards.
- Evaluate potential new employee candidates or transfers when necessary. Create training programs to enhance employee's capabilities and safety.
- Attend tooling / fixture review meetings and provide feedback for improving proposed tooling / fixtures. Evaluate current tooling and take steps to make improvements if necessary. Evaluate new tools / fixtures to determine if they meet production readiness requirements.
