Job Title: Elementary School Teacher
Reports to: Principal
FLSA: Full-time
Kadima Day School is seeking a full-time elementary school classroom teacher to substitute for a teacher on leave.
Job Summary: An elementary teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a wide range of educational experiences to promote the academic, personal, interpersonal, physical, and spiritual development of each child. Responsibilities include promoting the safety and wellbeing of all members of the classroom community; planning and implementing activities that promote students’ active inquiry, discovery, and learning both individually and in small groups; adapting materials and methods to meet children’s varying readiness, interests, and learning profiles; and partnering with colleagues and parents to promote each child’s motivation, perseverance, and growth.
Job Duties:
- Develop and implement a balanced and enriched curriculum in literacy, math, social studies and science.
- Foster a classroom community founded on trust, respect, self-regard and mutual regard, openness, inclusiveness, wonder, and joy
- Promote in children self-awareness, self-regulation, moral sensitivity, integrity, and mutual responsibility
- Use a variety of teaching practices to promote engagement and motivation, student choice and accountability, and the 4 C’s - critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication
- Use a variety of assessment practices to monitor, guide, and support student learning and to adjust teaching to meet student needs
- Communicate with parents to promote active partnership and collaboration
- Engage in professional development as a foremost priority
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Master’s degree preferred
- California teaching credential
- Understanding of and commitment to the mission and core values of Kadima
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Team player - thrives in a collaborative work environment
- 3 years of teaching experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Judaic Studies and Hebrew-language proficiency preferred

Pay: $54,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
