Position Purpose

Our children's residential facility is the place for you to continue empowering youth to reach their full potential. We want our team members to positively impact the community by changing the lives of boys ages 8 to 17. We implement a holistic program approach to caring for youth that inspires them to be successful. As a part of the group home team, you will provide care to youth placed in the home, document daily activities, use a case management system, organize activities, and provide supervision of group home residents.

This work ensures that youth in the facility are being appropriately cared for and meeting agency goals and expectations. This is to include:

• Complete, update, and monitor treatment plans, monitoring of group home youth within the agency.
• Supervise and perform case management duties for youth in our program.
• Supervise and assist with monthly home visits, school visits, agency staff observations, home safety compliance, working with the birth family, and professional team to coordinate services.
• Coordination of essential services.

The Youth Engagement Specialist is a critical member of Kadiri House's team. This position will advance Kadiri House's youth care strategies, including supporting the residents, Program Director, and team members and facilitating collaboration with our partners. It reports directly to the Program Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree required
• 3-5 years of residential youth care experience required, including de-escalation training, establishing limits and boundaries, planning & execute educational, social & recreational activities, and critical thinking
• 3-4 years of case management skills preferred
• At least 21 years old
• Valid Minnesota driver’s license or obtain one within 30 days from the start date of employment, have a clean driving record and be insurable per our corporate driver's insurance policy and pass MBI, FBI, and any other required background check.
• Be empathetic and have a team approach to care for the residents in our care
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

WORK SCHEDULE: Various 8 to 10-hour swing shifts available, including Mon-Fri, 8 am-4 pm, 2 pm-10 pm, 10 pm - overnight, 2 weekends per month required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to manage, develop, and implement case plans for residents
• Assess the strengths and problem areas of the residents and implement program and resident plans into the daily routine
• Ability to implement case plan goals into day-to-day plans and activities
• Attend weekly team meetings and update all staff on residents' goals, and identify gaps in resident's progress to meet goals. Facilitate community involvement and activities
• Provide supervision, counseling, and safety for residents
• Provide or arrange for transportation to and from activities, appointments, etc., in the community. Plan outings into the community and accompany youth
• Teach and/or participate in community, educational, and recreational activities
• Ability to communicate effectively daily, medical administration sheets, behavior assessments, runaway reports, incident reports, damage to facility reports
• Prior to each shift, check the calendar for events/appointments, also read daily log entries
• Monitor and maintain confidential record-keeping systems to assure regulatory requirements are met
• Report any child maltreatment to appropriate authorities
