Kaeppel Consulting is seeking a Senior Manager, Identity Governance to work for one of our clients in one of the following locations - Chicago, IL; Jacksonville, FL; Downers Grove, IL.
As the Senior Manager of Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), you will play a key role in the design, development, and execution of our Identity and Access Management (IAM) strategy. You will oversee the day-to-day management of identity lifecycle processes (including onboarding, role changes, and terminations), access management, access reviews, and the automation of related processes. This role is essential for ensuring that our IAM program remains robust, efficient, and aligned with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of IGA professionals, ensuring high performance, continuous growth, and effective communication.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive identity governance strategy, aligning with the organization’s long-term IAM roadmap.
- Oversee the management of user and service account provisioning, de-provisioning, and access certification across a variety of platforms and systems.
- Spearhead the creation and execution of application entitlement and certification processes to maintain access controls within IAM systems.
- Foster a security-driven culture across the organization, promoting awareness and continuous improvements to IAM functions.
- Define and track IGA-related security metrics and provide regular reports to leadership in IAM and Information Security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, compliance, and business stakeholders, to ensure seamless IAM integration and alignment with business goals.
- Advocate for the IAM program, presenting IGA services, strategies, and initiatives to key business and technology stakeholders.
- Partner with IAM engineering teams to prioritize product enhancements and lead efforts to drive improvements to IAM solutions.
- Work closely with Service Desk and user support teams to streamline processes and enhance the user experience.
- Take ownership of career development, performance management, and team communication within the IGA department.
- Lead the creation and delivery of audit reports, ensuring that controls are effectively implemented across systems and responding to audit and regulatory inquiries.
- Manage compliance with regulatory access controls, ensuring all technology functions are aligned with industry and legal standards.
- Collaborate with HR on updates to the Workday system and ensure downstream impacts on identity systems are addressed.
- Respond promptly to security incidents and access-related issues, implementing corrective actions to mitigate identity risks.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing identity governance programs within large, enterprise-level organizations.
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role, managing teams and developing staff.
- Strong background in IAM governance, compliance, and operational support.
- Experience implementing and supporting IAM and Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of identity lifecycle management, access controls (role-based, discretionary), authentication/authorization, provisioning, and policy frameworks.
- Proven track record in defining and implementing IAM policies, workflows, and metrics.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to influence senior leadership and gain trust across the organization.
- Experience with regulatory controls such as SOX and an understanding of related compliance requirements.
- Highly motivated, with a self-starter attitude and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Occasional travel may be required (approximately 10%). This is a hybrid role, working at the local client's office.
