Kaffee Vonsolln in Portsmouth is hiring! We are a small, family-owned coffee shop in the downtown, seeking a passionate and dedicated barista to join our team. As a barista, you will be responsible for creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers while maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment. You will play a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality beverage preparation and outstanding service. We have a great team and a dedicated, friendly customer base.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences.
- Operate the POS system for order processing, ensuring accuracy in cash handling and transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Assist with food preparation and handling as needed, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
- Manage inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies; communicate needs to management when necessary.
- Promote sales through upselling techniques while maintaining a friendly atmosphere.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in customer service, food service, or a retail environment preferred.
- Familiarity with cash registers and cash handling procedures is essential.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food preparation techniques is a plus.
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to operate POS systems
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor towards customers and colleagues.
- Basic understanding of retail math for accurate transaction processing is beneficial.
