Position Summary
The VP Operations provides overall direction and guidance to the operational activity of an organization. The position is responsible for the formulation of policies, budget plans, and the effective and efficient use of equipment and human resources.
Essential Functions
- Maximize growth and profitability; lead and manage all functions of the business operation
- Implement short- and long-term programs in accordance with growth and profit plans
- Review performance of business plans, analyze market conditions, and approve changes in plan direction
- Collaborate with other departments of management to execute corporate plans
- Provide guidance to employees by interpreting policies, goals, direction of corporate objectives
- Supervise and support employees to ensure safety in the workplace
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in business related field
- 7 years of progressive transportation and management experience
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to recruit and motivate employees
- Must possess creativity and orientation to results
- Must possess strong analytical, mathematic, and administrative skills
