POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:
We are looking for a college level student who is organized, detail oriented, has good communication skills, willing to learn to join the team of Food Scientists at Kagome this summer. It is a perfect opportunity for students looking to gain experience and a better understanding in food product development and the food industry.
Under the guidance of the R&D team, you will be able to
• Engage and becomes a partial owner of the projects you assist with
• Develop an understanding of product development, processing and QA/QC operations in a cross-functional team
• Provide valuable technical support to service the R&D team
• Perform analytical testing on frozen and shelf-stable sauces
• Assist with ingredient screening and evaluation. Prepare lab bench samples for customers
POSITION DIMENSIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level:
Junior or Senior college level (60 units or more)
Currently pursuing a degree in Food Science or related field
Academic knowledge of general food science, food safety, and/or food microbiology is a plus

Physical Demands:
Sitting at a computer terminal, standing, and walking for long periods of time.
Work Environment:
Working in both an office environment and food technology laboratory with moderate noise levels. May be exposed to some food-related chemicals.
At the manufacturing plant, may be exposed to a food processing environment with changes in temperatures, damp conditions.
Some lifting and prolonged standing are required.
This is a Safety Sensitive position.

A valid driver’s license will be required.
