The Firmwide Training & Development Manager will be responsible for providing training to attorneys and paralegals across all offices.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the professional growth and development of attorneys and paralegals through training, goal setting, the mentoring program, and continuous coaching and counseling.
- Develop curriculum and present in-house training and programs to enhance attorney and paralegal skills.
- Create, oversee, and implement certain aspects of orientation and onboarding for all new attorneys and paralegals, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires.
- Provide regular performance feedback to encourage and promote development and contribute to performance evaluations.
- Stay informed about relevant technology that could benefit our practice groups and the firm; present proposals for new tools and processes as necessary.
- Work closely with the Paralegal Manager and Practice Group Manager to coordinate multi-office case management and assignments, as needed.
- Foster collaboration with partners to improve the utilization and realization of attorneys and paralegals, including identifying growth and development assignments for those who need hands-on training to refine their skillset.
- Collaborate with practice group leaders to design and deliver targeted legal training programs by practice group, class year, and role.
- Provide matter-specific guidance, in real time, to attorneys and paralegals who are learning and have questions as they complete assignments.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
- Maintain and update a repository of training materials and resources based on class year, practice group, client or carrier, stage of a matter, or at critical inflection points in an attorney or paralegal’s career.
- Develop and recommend training material for the summer associate program; assist with the training and development of the summer associates.
- Maintain a database of knowledge management resources and samples by practice group, document or motion type, and client or carrier.
- Stay up to date on changing laws, procedures, and rules and provide training on those subjects, coordinating with practice group and firm leaders.
- Coordinate with practice group and firm leaders to promote teamwork; ensure the effective deployment of attorney and paralegal team members.
- Train all employees when there are new software rollouts to ensure they know how to use new tools and resources (e.g., calendaring software, billing software, research tools).
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
