We are seeking to fill the position of Cook - Full-Time.
What will you do as a Cook?
Food Preparation:
- Prepare food daily according to menus using standardized recipes.
- Adapt recipes to accommodate special dietary needs or enhance flavor.
- Ensure proper plate presentation and garnish food attractively.
- Serve appropriate condiments with meals.
Service Coordination:
- Coordinate and participate in the service line during mealtimes.
- Monitor portion control to meet residents' requests and minimize waste.
Sanitation and Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness in work areas, adhering to sanitation guidelines.
- Ensure cleanliness of coolers, freezers, and storage rooms.
- Follow First in, First out guidelines for food storage and labeling.
Attendance and Participation:
- Attend all required departmental meetings, in-services, and trainings
Relationship Building:
- Build positive relationships with residents, employees, and coworkers.
Compliance:
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Cook Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Healthcare Food Service experience.
- Food Handler Certification or the ability to complete within 30 days.
- SERV Safe Certificate.
- Customer Service.
Cook Physical Demands:
- Must be able to perform various physical tasks related to serving: Standing, walking, bending stooping, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Mental Acuity: Ability to read, interpret documents, and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
Cook Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must complete and pass Monthly training.
- Ability to work flexible work hours with rotating shifts that may include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate patience and active listening skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to solve problems and address residents’ needs with empathy and a positive attitude.
