The Kahler Grand Hotel, part of the Kahler Hospitality Group, is a historic landmark offering luxurious accommodations and exceptional service. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Engineer 1 to join our Maintenance Department.
The Engineer I is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the hotel remains in top condition. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and addressing maintenance issues, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to identify and address potential issues.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Assist with the implementation of preventive maintenance programs.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to support hotel operations and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a maintenance or engineering role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
Compensation RangeThe compensation for this position is $19.40/hour plus additional $1.00/hour for each certification (i.e., HVAC, boiler, electrical, plumber).
