Full Job Description
Kahn's Catering is seeking an ambitious and strategic leader to fill the role of a Banquet & Café Manager. This hands-on and physically demanding position requires an eager quick-study to manage banquet set-up of event spaces and oversee daily cafe operations all while in a high-volume, fast paced, diverse environment.
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of proven experience planning, setting and managing large premium events, and a preferred fine dining & restaurant background.
Additionally, this Banquet & Café Manager will have core accountability for venue specific food & beverage purchasing, requisitioning and handling.
The desired candidate would be described as a food and beverage career-minded professional with a commitment to achieving the highest levels of quality and service by leading a team who understands our vision and goals. Must also be an adaptable person with steadfast fortitude.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's (Preferred)
Supervisor/Management: 2 years (Preferred)
Responsibilites:
- Weekly cafe purchasing, requisitioning and handling
- Successfully working with our clients and venue partners in the setup, preparation and execution of events
- Serve as the point of contact to the event client for all operations-related matters
- Maintain compliance with all matters related to Board of Health, Liquor Licenses, OSHA, and Department of Labor
- Staff development, training and performance coaching of all front and back of house staff
- Manage and participate in successful execution of events
- Communicate with Director of Food and Beverage and Chefs on all things related to culinary operations and suggestions for improvement
- All other duties as assigned by management for proper operation
Other Requirements:
- Full-time status with a flexible schedule, weekends and evenings required for events
- Indiana State Liquor License or ability to obtain license
- ServSafe Food Service Manager Certification (company-provided class and testing materials)
- Oversee, manage, produce schedules and maintain a cafe team for daily operations
- Must have a professional appearance at all times
- Candidates must successfully pass a background check - Any offer of employment would be contingent upon receiving a favorable background check
- Be able to stand and walk for entirety of shift(s), sometimes on wet, uneven, slippery surfaces
- Pull, push, lift, & carry 40 pounds regularly
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions; rain, snow, hot or cold temperatures
