About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team in Kailua Kona, Hawaii. As an integral part of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic sonography examinations, utilizing cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures to anatomical and pathological information. You will work independently to differentiate between normal and pathological findings during exams, analyze sonograms, synthesize information, and communicate findings to the appropriate physician.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations
- Utilize independent judgment to acquire optimum diagnostic sonographic information
- Analyze sonograms, synthesize information, and communicate findings to physicians
- Coordinate work schedule with Departmental Director to ensure workload coverage
- Ensure patient safety, mental, and physical comfort
- Maintain a daily log of patients and complete exam billing forms
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication with healthcare teams
- Provide in-service education on sonographic procedures as requested
Requirements:
- Effectively operate sonographic equipment
- Use independent judgment to acquire optimal diagnostic sonographic information
- Able to evaluate, synthesize, and communicate diagnostic information to attending physicians
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication with the public and healthcare teams
- Work efficiently and cope with emergencies
