Job Summary:
Provides administrative and clinical support to the Behavioral Health Clinic and Director.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage clients initial and ongoing appointments and enter appointments into EMR.
- Places client reminder calls the day before the scheduled appointment.
- Executes and operates case management functions of all BH clients, including the assessment and community referrals to ensure BH clients have the support they need.
- Communicate financial details to clients, including prior authorizations, collect co-pays upon client appointment, sliding scale fees, and forward all billing inquiries or concerns to the appropriate KMC staff.
- Assist in the creation of a safe and supportive care environment by greeting and assisting clients, visitors, and staff.
- Performs clinical functions to assist Nurse Practitioner such as collecting vitals, obtaining appropriate client medical records, scheduling medical appointments and other duties as appropriate.
- Facilitates the prior authorization and approval process for medical and behavioral health referrals as identified by a Behavioral Health provider.
- Assist clinical providers in identifying and/or assisting high-risk clients with referrals to appropriate community resources.
- Review treatment plans for high-risk clients, interpreting previous and narrative data, and responding to correspondence.
- Resolve client or visitor questions and/or direct to the appropriate resource.
- Answer telephone phone calls, and return calls, promptly and relay messages to appropriate personnel.
- Places client reminder calls the day before the scheduled appointment.
- Orders and maintains departmental client care and office supplies. Follow purchase requisition procedures.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or certification in behavioral health or related fields is required.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- One (1) year healthcare administrative experience preferred.
- One (1) year behavioral health experience.
- One (1) year Customer service skill and experience preferred.
- CERNER, EPIC, and Microsoft experience preferred.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged standing and walking.
- Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, and sitting.
