Position Purpose:
The Clinical Nurse Leader serves as a clinical resource and supports the Clinic Practice Manager in leading, precepting, and mentoring the clinic staff at Kahuku Medical Center (KMC). This role ensures compliance with ambulatory care standards, enhances patient experience, and optimizes clinic operations while maintaining accountability to the Chief Nursing Officer.
Essential Functions:

Ensures patient care aligns with state regulations, accreditation standards, and KMC policies and procedures. Ensures all staff work within their scope of practice for licensure or certification in HI.

Supervises clinic support staff, monitors performance, and supports employee development and retention.

Oversees daily clinic operations to optimize patient flow, resource allocation, and care prioritization.

Monitors key performance indicators, implements quality and safety initiatives, and drives performance improvement.

Creates, reviews, and updates ambulatory care policies and procedures.

Promotes a patient-centered approach, resolves complaints, and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.

Assists with patient emergencies and collaborates with clinic staff to manage complex care needs.

Supports cost-efficiency initiatives and responsible use of equipment and materials.

Assists in developing and expanding clinic programs to meet community needs.
Job Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

3-5 years in healthcare, with 2 years in ambulatory nursing.

Current Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Expertise in ambulatory nursing practices and performance improvement.

Ability to manage time, resources, and competing priorities effectively.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in ambulatory care.

EPIC knowledge and system familiarity a plus.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of up to 25 pounds while assisting patients or handling medical equipment.

Work is performed in a clinical setting, which may include exposure to infectious diseases, biohazards, and varying noise levels.

High levels of concentration and critical thinking required to manage patient care, staff coordination, and administrative tasks effectively.
