Job Title: PBX Operator II
Department: Patient Access

Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Bargaining (UWP)
Primary Purpose: Responsible for the hospital's telecommunication system through the PBX and intercom. Assists in public relations of the hospital through contact by phone and incoming visitors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the hospital's telecommunication system through the PBX and intercom.
- Under the direction of the Business Office Manager may assist with billing cash accounts.
- Greet and assist callers and visitors to the hospital.• Receive, open, and deliver mail to correct department.
- Maintains cash receipt journal. Enters checks, cash and credit card payments and non-patient journal entries.
- Assist Business Office with billing questions and payments via phone. Notes are documented in Revenue Cycle.
- Collects and receipt incoming cash and credit card payments from patients.
- Maintains cash box and credit card log receipt daily.
- Record insurance TADs daily in Revenue Manager/
- Performs other related work as directed.
Training / Educational / Experience Qualifications:
- Graduate from high school or its equivalency is required.
- Typing skills required.
- Computer knowledge preferred.
Physical, Communication, Mental and Environmental Demands:
- Must be able to express or communicate effectively (clearly and tactfully).
- Prolonged sitting, with continuous handling and frequent fingering.
- Occasional corrected vision usage.
- High concentration and alertness level.
