What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sushi Chef position at Kai Lounge?
Located right on the waters of Huntington Beach, Kai Lounge is looking for Sushi Chefs to join our team. Sushi chefs with experience will be prioritized but we will consider training the right people.
Duties include:
-Preparing all types of sushi, including maki, nigiri and sashimi according to Chef's recipes
-Add additional flavors to sushi rolls with ginger, rice vinegar, wasabi and soy sauce, when appropriate
-Manage food prep activities, like boiling rice
-Coordinate with our wait staff to ensure proper cooking, considering special requests and food allergies
-Prepare appetizers, soups and salads that are close to the philosophy of Japanese cuisine
-Monitor food stock and place orders, as needed
-Maintain hygiene principles in all cooking areas and clean your space at the end of the shift
Starting pay is $20/hour depending on experience plus tips
